2024 brings a year packed with outstanding art
Currently showing: John Craxton: A Modern Odyssey, an exhibition which Laura Freeman at The Times described as 'like a ray of hot Cretan sunshine', showcases Craxton's range of work from haunting landscapes to the joyful warmth of works created amid the Greek locations he made his home. This is an exhibition to brighten even the very dullest of days. Until 21st April 2024.
The Shape of Things: Still Life in Britain
The first major exhibition to consider - or rather, challenge viewers to reconsider - the enduring theme of still life in British art, exploring its rich symbolism, and how it has been used as a vehicle of innovation and experimentation to become fundamentally relevant to artists and society.
‘The Shape of Things’ will lead the viewer from 17th-century ‘vanitas’ paintings to vibrant post-impressionism, surrealism, abstraction, neo-romanticism, realism, and conceptual art and installation via over 70 artists including Vanessa Bell, Patrick Caulfield, Lucian Freud, Gluck, Duncan Grant, Richard Hamilton, Mona Hatoum, David Hockney, Lee Miller, and many, many more.

Rana Begum: Staircase Commission
Rana Begum brings her distinctive work to Pallant House Gallery's staircase installation, at the very heart of the historic 18th Century Queen Anne townhouse. Begum is known for her work showcasing the interplay between light and colours, blurring the boundaries between sculpture, painting and architecture while drawing on influences from traditional Islamic art and architecture and urban landscapes. We're excited to see what promises to be a memorable visual experience.

Dora Carrington
The first museum exhibition of Dora Carrington's work since 1995, this major new exhibition aims to reveal Carrington's remarkable body of work, shining a light on her unconventional life and her contribution to Modern British art. The exhibition will feature paintings, print and drawings as well as film and photographs from private and public collections.

The evolution of British studio pottery, showcasing Pallant House Gallery's collection of over 100 studio ceramics, largely acquired through gifts and bequests.
Nana Shiomi (3 August - 13 October 2024)
An exhibition exploring the prints by Nana Shiomi, a Japanese artist working in Britain. Sophisticated wood cuts are rooted in the traditional Japanese technique of ukiyo-e woodblock printmaking, while drawing on European influences.
